Chelsea LAST with Tottenham and Manchester United in top five – How every Premier League club ranks in terms of squad loyalty

Money has bought Chelsea a huge amount of success over the years – but not loyalty it seems.

If the Premier League table was ranked on player loyalty, then the Blues would be in LAST place.

Players tend not to stick around if they sign for Chelsea, according to the research

This is according to research by Paddy Power, who looked at the average length of service of all current squad members of the 92 sides in the Football League.

The top-flight makes for contrasting reading to the real Premier League table, with Sean Dyche’s Burnley top of the loyalty league.

The average stay per player at Turf Moor is 1,496 days, which is a little bit above four years.

Champions League qualification was just out of reach for Tottenham and Leicester but they are in the top four of this table, meanwhile, Crystal Palace are third.

Manchester United, who pipped Leicester to the Champions League spots on the final day of the 2019/20 season, would be just behind the Foxes in fifth.

At the other end of the table, Chelsea would be going down with the average stay per player at Stamford Bridge a mere 614 days, which is less than two years.

Everton and Wolves are just in front of Chelsea but occupy the other two spots in the bottom three.

Elsewhere, Liverpool and Manchester City may be the two best sides in the division but they’d occupy mid-table spots in this table. The Reds are eleventh, while City are 13th.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are in between the two aforementioned side in twelfth.

A Paddy Power spokesman said: “Chelsea – a club famous for regularly sacking its managers just months after they win silverware – is the most disloyal side in the Premier League? Who’d have thunk it?”

This doesn’t bode too well for new summer signings Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech and Ben Chilwell!
