Cristiano Ronaldo continues to break records for Juventus at the age of 35.
Ronaldo scored twice in their Champions League clash against Lyon as he took the game by the scruff of the neck in Turin.
The Portugal international has still enjoyed a phenomenal season with the Italian club as he led them to the Serie A title.
His two strikes against Lyon took him to 37 in all competitions for the season – the most ever by a Juventus player.
The record had stood since 1926 when Ferenc Hirzer netted 35 times in the 1925/26 campaign.
Ronaldo is only in his second season with the Turin club but continues to leave his mark.
He had already equalled the club’s single season Serie A record goal tally and also became the fastest player to reach a half-century of goals in the league in just 61 appearances.
Ronaldo will not be adding to his haul of five Champions League titles this season, though, as Juventus crashed out against Lyon on away goals.
His first came from the penalty spot after Memphis Depay handled the ball in the area while he fired into the top corner from long range to grab his second.
Lyon had scored early in the first half to grab that all important away goal as the matched ended 2-2 on aggregate.
The double also took his tally in Champions League knockout stages to 67, which is 21 more than any other player.
