Wolves came close to doubling their lead just after the hour when Allain turned Podence’s drive over and, soon after, Willy Boly failed to turn in Diogo Jota’s deflected effort.
There was no redemption for Rangers as their Europa League campaign was finally killed off by a 1-0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen.

But the damage done in March’s 3-1 first-leg defeat at Ibrox proved too much to recover.
