Jim White has rubbished reports that Dele Alli was offered to Real Madrid by Tottenham in an attempt to lure Gareth Bale back to the club.
Bale is on the verge of completing a sensational return to Spurs after seven years in the Spanish capital, with a season-long loan deal set to be confirmed on Friday.
The Welshman helped steer Los Blancos to ten trophies in during his time in Madrid, but for one reason or another failed to win over the Bernabeu faithful and Zinedine Zidane.
Reports on Thursday suggested that Zidane rejected a move for Alli after he was left furious by the playmaker’s comments in 2017 that he ‘should’ve scored a hat-trick’ in Spurs’ 3-1 win over Real in the Champions League.
However, talkSPORT host Jim White has quashed those reports by insisting a deal for Alli to make the switch to LaLiga was never on the cards.
“He hasn’t been part of the Bale deal,” revealed Jim on Friday morning. “We know that now. It’s complete rubbish, the chance that he was ever going to go away.”
Earlier this week, Jamie O’Hara said Alli had not done enough to earn a move to a big club such as Real.
He told Thursday’s talkSPORT Breakfast: “I can’t see Dele Alli going to Real Madrid. I don’t think he’s done enough to warrant a big move like that.
“I think Spurs need to try and find a solution to get the best out of him. If they do bring in Gareth Bale, they are talking about a top player all of a sudden, Harry Kane is going to be happy with it.
“Dele Alli needs to find his form. You can’t say he’s not done great things because he’s scored over 50 Premier League goals.
“He can be a brilliant player for Spurs. He’s been very average lately but I still think there’s something there they need to find and motivate him to get the best out of him.”
