Liverpool have agreed a £45m deal for Wolves striker Diogo Jota, with Reds starlet Ki-Jana Hoever set to go the other way.
The Reds made their second signing of the summer with the arrival Thiago from Bayern Munich on Friday.
And there could now be a flurry of activity at Anfield.
It is understood Jota has agreed a five-year deal to join Liverpool and will undergo a medical on Saturday ahead of his move.
The Reds see the £45m forward as a back-up option to their front three of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.
Jota was an unused substitute in Wolves’ 2-0 victory over Sheffield United last weekend, also missing the Carabao Cup defeat to Stoke completely as boss Nuno Espirito Santo declined to comment on why the 23-year-old was not in the squad.
“He was not available for the game,” he said.
“These are decisions we have to make, we have to protect the squad and take care of the players.
“When a player is not on the list, sometimes he stays at home, sometimes he watches the match. You’re going to speculate a lot. He was not on the squad list, period.”
The Portugal international made 48 appearances in all competitions last season, contributing 16 goals and six assists.
Netherlands Under-18 international Hoever has made four appearances for the senior side under Jurgen Klopp.
In 2019, he became the club’s youngest-ever player in the FA Cup when he made an appearance against Wolves.
But now, according to the Daily Mail, plans to loan the 18-year-old out appear to have been scrapped after terms for a permanent deal have been agreed.
The right-back is keen to move to Molinuex and is seen by Nuno Espirito Santo as a potential replacement for Matt Doherty, as well as cover for the centre of defence.
