Tottenham linked with Benfica striker Haris Seferovic as Jose Mourinho looks to provide help for Harry Kane

Tottenham are reportedly close to signing a striker to provide support for Harry Kane.

Kane and Heung-min Son both spent a number of weeks on the sidelines due to injury and Jose Mourinho had to make do with players out of position.

The enforced coronavirus break actually benefitted the north London club as it allowed them to get some of their stars back fit and resulted in a sixth place Premier League finish.

Reports in Portugal claim that Spurs are now close to ending their search for a new forward with a deal for Benfica striker Haris Seferovic reportedly on his way to north London.

It is understood to be a loan deal rather than a permanent transfer.

Spurs have been busy in the transfer market in recent days with the club also understood to be locked in talks with Inter Milan over a deal for centre-back Milan Skriniar.

Last weekend, Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon completed their moves from Real Madrid.

Bale joined on loan for the season and Reguilon on a permanent deal.

Earlier in the transfer window, Tottenham completed deals for Matt Doherty and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Wolves and Southampton respectively.
