Gareth Bale is set to complete his stunning Tottenham return and Spurs fans will now be eager to see his trademark celebration as soon as possible.
Wales superstar Bale is on the verge of re-joining Tottenham from Real Madrid in one of the biggest transfers of the summer.
The 31-year-old is in London to have his medical in north London and iron out the finer details of his new contract with Spurs.
Tottenham fans will hope Bale will bring some much-needed creativity, attacking threat and, of course, goals to their struggling side.
And with Bale’s goals comes his celebration – the heart shape he makes with his hand.
The meaning behind the celebration is heartwarming and was originally meant as a tribute to his childhood sweetheart, Emma Rhys-Jones, to whom he is now engaged and has three children with.
The celebration has morphed into something much bigger and become part of Bale’s global marketing appeal.
In March 2013, the Wales star filed an application with the Intellectual Property office to trademark his goal celebration along with his squad number, eleven.
It is now known as the ‘eleven of hearts’ celebration and earns him around £3million a year.
Bale has worn the number eleven for club and country for several years.
It remains to be seen if he will need to take Erik Lamela’s squad number at Tottenham once he does sign for the club.
