Erling Haaland scored a first international hat-trick in Norway’s 4-0 win over Romania on Sunday.
The Borussia Dortmund star struck in the 13th minute and twice in the second-half as Norway leapfrogged Romania into second place in their Nations League group.
Haaland has now scored 51 goals in his last 48 games for club and country… not bad for a 20-year-old!
Borussia Dortmund did not seem surprised about their striker finding the target for his country as they tweeted: “Shocker, Erling Haaland has scored again for Norway.”
His latest starring performance comes after reports have claimed Manchester United pulled out of a deal to sign him due to agent fees and a release clause request.
Haaland was one of the most sought after strikers while scoring for fun for Red Bull Salzburg in the first half of last season.
He was heavily tipped to reunite with his former Molde manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Old Trafford.
However, the 6ft 4ins powerhouse ended up joining Dortmund after they paid his modest £18m release clause last December.
ESPN say United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward walked away from a possible transfer because of inflated agent fees and a request to put a release clause in Haaland’s contract.
Haaland has been showing United what they are missing by scoring 17 goals in 18 Bundesliga appearances since making his Dortmund debut in January.
