Of all of Chelsea’s new signings, Kai Havertz has perhaps been the most impressive so far.
Signed for a handsome £70million fee from Bayer Leverkusen this summer, there was, and still is, a lot of pressure riding on the shoulders of the young German.
But he seems to be getting better and better with each passing game.
After shaky opening matches against Brighton and Liverpool, the 21-year-old scored a hat-trick against Barnsley and now seems to really be coming into his own in the Blue shirt.
But it was the white shirt of Germany that he dazzle in on Wednesday evening.
In Die Mannschaft’s friendly against Turkey, Havertz provided two assists for his teammates – and both were simply delightful.
For Germany’s opener, the playmaker controlled the ball from out wide with a brilliant first touch before playing an inch-perfect through ball to Julian Draxler to slot home.
His second was even better. As Borussia Monchengladbach Florian Neuhaus charged into the box, Havertz quickly collected his pass before playing it back to him to fire in from close range.
Chelsea look to have a real dime in their ranks and he could quickly prove to be a snip if he continues his electric form.
