Two of Europe’s heavyweights clash on Sunday as England and Belgium face each other in the Nations League.
Both teams have some of brightest talents in world football and there’s a reason why they are touted as possible contenders for next summer’s Euro 2020.
Gareth Southgate’s side are the 11/2 favourites while Belgium are 7/1, according to Oddschecker.
Sunday’s Nations League match at 5pm, which is live on talkSPORT, could be a precursor to a crucial showdown next summer.
There is also the potential for some electric football from both teams with an array of attacking talent on display.
Here, talkSPORT.com looks at the value of both teams ahead of the match this weekend and possible line-ups for next summers Euros.
England
Best XI for Sunday
Southgate has some of the best young attacking players in Europe at his disposal and are getting better all the time.
Jadon Sancho and Harry Kane are arguably in the conversation for best in the world at their position, as is right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Jack Grealish has been excellent for Aston Villa over the last couple of seasons, personified by his performance in their 7-2 win over Liverpool at the weekend as well as in the 3-0 win against Wales.
There’s also a wealth of talent not in the team, including Raheem Sterling, Kalvin Phillips, Mason Greenwood and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
England team value
How much every player in the XI is worth, according to transfermarkt
Harry Kane – £108m
Jadon Sancho – £105.3m
Marcus Rashford – £72m
Jordan Henderson – £25.2m
Declan Rice – £44.5m
Jack Grealish – £36m
Ben Chilwell – £36m
Harry Maguire – £50.4m
Joe Gomez – £36m
Trent Alexander-Arnold – £99m
Nick Pope – £10.8m
Total – £623.2m
The front three alone account for nearly £300million in value, according to transfermarkt, although if they were ever available for transfer they are likely to command higher fees.
Borussia Dortmund wanted around £120million from Manchester United this summer, which they didn’t want to spend.
Tottenham would always be reluctant to sell Harry Kane but would want a figure much higher than £108million.
Despite this, England’s team value is well in excess of £600million and that is only likely to increase as the players develop.
Best XI for Euros
Raheem Sterling had to withdraw from the England squad due to injury but he is the best option from the lest side of a front three, ahead of Marcus Rashford.
Despite Phil Foden’s indiscretions during the last international break, he’s evolving into one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.
A full season in Man City’s first XI is only going to help his case for a place in the starting line-up for next summer’s Euros.
Belgium
Best XI for Sunday
Robert Martinez has some of the world’s best attackers in his squad with Kevin De Bruyne the star of the line-up on current form.
The Man City midfielder was the best player in the Premier League last season and is in the conversation for best in the world right now.
Eden Hazard has been injured a lot over the last year but when he is fully fit he can be devastating.
Former Chelsea, Everton and Man United striker Romelu Lukaku will likely lead the line. The 27-year-old has been unplayable since joining Inter, scoring 37 goals in just 54 games for the club.
Belgium team value
How much every player in the XI is worth, according to transfermarkt
Romelu Lukaku – £76.5m
Eden Hazard – £54m
Dries Mertens – £16.2m
Yannick Carrasco – £22.5m
Youri Tielemans – £39.4m
Kevin De Bruyne – £108m
Thomas Meunier – £21.6m
Jan Vertonghen – £13m
Toby Alderweireld – £21.6m
Jason Denayer – £10.8m
Simon Mignolet – £7.2m
Total – £390.8m
The three stars names on the list; Kevin De Bruyne, Eden Hazard and Romelu Lukaku, do the heavy lifting in this list with a combined total of more than £200million.
Despite some ageing players in the team and some notable absentees, the team value is close to £400million.
It makes the total value of players who could take the field on Sunday at more than £1billion.
Best XI for Euros
Thibaut Courtois had to withdraw from Martinez’s squad through injury but he would go straight back into the side to replace Simon Mignolet.
Eden Hazard’s brother, Thorgan, is also likely to be part of the team by next summer’s tournament.
He has been a regular for Borussia Dortmund but is not involved in the squad due to face England because of a muscle injury.
