Tottenham’s attack ‘better than Liverpool’s’ if Gareth Bale clicks with Kane and Son, believes former Spurs and Reds star

Jamie Redknapp believes Tottenham will have have the best attack in the Premier League if Gareth Bale, Harry Kane and Son Heung-min can ‘hit it off’.

Bale re-joined Spurs on a season-long loan last month, seven years after his world record transfer to Real Madrid.

The Welshman came ‘home’ this summer and, after a knee problem, he’s now back in training and raring to go for their home clash against West Ham at the weekend.

Four Champions Leagues were won by Bale in Spain, making him one of the most decorated British footballers ever.

And Redknapp believes Spurs’ attacking trio have potential to be truly devastating if they all hit top form.

Speaking to Paddy Power, Redknapp said : “My Dad said a few weeks ago on Sky Sports that Tottenham are going to win the league! I’m not sure what that did to the odds, but I did do a quick check of his temperature after to make sure he’s alright!

“The good news is he was fine. I know where he’s coming from in terms of they’ve got good players, but can they gel? Can they get it together long term? We also have to remember, yes they might have battered Man United and Southampton, but they lost against Everton, drew against Newcastle, it’s not perfect.

“If those three [Son, Kane, Bale] can hit it off, then that’s the best forward line in the country. We all think about Salah, Firmino and Mane but all three of those for Spurs have goals in them. They could be amazing. I genuinely can’t wait to see how those three forwards gel, it has the potential to be unreal.

Redknapp is adamant that Bale has the tools to be a success once again for Spurs, insisting the player would have gone down another path if he didn’t think he could thrive in the Lilywhite shirt again.

“There’s a really simple reason why I believe Bale will work at Tottenham: he’s not an idiot,” the former Spurs midfielder added. “I don’t think he’s the type of guy that would put himself on offer unless he thought it would work.

“He could have gone anywhere, to America, to China, to Man United, wherever he wanted, but he chose Tottenham because he knows he has something left in the tank.

“It’s great news for the fans, too, and if he can even get a little bit of the form he had before he went to Real Madrid then, honestly, anything is possible. Because he is such an amazing talent, there’s nothing he can’t do.”
