The 2020 summer transfer deadline day was a packed with drama as Premier League sides splashed the clash right up to the last minute.
But, the transfer window has not exactly slammed shut just yet with ‘Deadline Day Two’ still to come.
Due to the impacts of the COVID-19 lockdown, the summer market has been reshaped to help aid clubs.
A ten-week window opened on July 27 and ran until Monday, October 5, closing at 11pm.
Arsenal signed Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid for £45million while Manchester United completed a host of late deals, including Edinson Cavani joining on a free.
Nine transfers that could still happen despite the deadline being passed
Premier League clubs can no longer do business with teams in Europe and around the world but they can look to keep spending.
This is because the top-flight and EFL have agreed on a second, domestic-only window.
This means Premier League clubs can keep trading with teams in the EFL or below until 5pm on October 16.
Top-flight teams will not be able to business between themselves.
There could well be some major deals to be done, chiefly among which is the interest surrounding Watford’s Ismaila Sarr.
Manchester United had a deadline day bid rejected for Sarr but could well go back in for him over the coming days.
The likes of Norwich midfielder Todd Cantwell and Bournemouth winger David Brooks have also been linked with returns to the top-flight.
