Arsenal completed the £45million signing of Thomas Partey to drastically bolster their midfield options on transfer deadline day.
The 27-year-old Ghana international, who will wear the No.18 shirt, moves to the Emirates after 132 appearances for Atleti.
Arsenal were also linked with a move for Houssem Aouar, but Partey is a player the club first scouted way back in 2014 and he was Mikel Arteta’s first choice target.

Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira departed the Emirates in order to make way for the club’s new No.18.
Torreira departs north London having made 89 appearances after leaving Sampdoria in 2018 to sign for Arsenal, where he was part of the side that won the FA Cup last season.
Guendouzi made 82 appearances since joining the Gunners from Lorient two years ago but he has found himself surplus to requirements under Arteta this term.
The France Under-21 international has not been selected in a matchday squad since a post-game incident in June’s defeat at Brighton led to further-reaching questions about his mentality.
Manchester United signed Uruguay striker Edinson Cavani and Brazil defender Alex Telles as they moved to strengthen their squad in the wake of Sunday’s 6-1 humiliation by Tottenham.

Cavani, who has signed a one-year contract with the option to extend for a further year, moves to Old Trafford on a free transfer following his release from Paris Saint-Germain earlier this summer.
The 33-year-old will reportedly earn £175,000-a-week and was one of FIVE Man United signings on deadline day, with Alex Telles another.
United are understood to have agreed a fee with Porto last weekend for left-back Telles.

United also reached an agreement to sign 18-year-old Atalanta winger Amad Diallo, who will join the Premier League club in January subject to a medical, personal terms and a work permit.
In addition, the Red Devils announced the signing from Sochaux of centre-back Willy Kambwala, who will join the Under-18s squad, while Chris Smalling completed a permanent move to Roma.
Furthermore, Uruguay wonderkid Facundo Pellistri also completed a move to Old Trafford, making it five deadline day arrivals for United.
Concerning events in the capital, Chelsea defender Fiyako Tomori rejected a move to West Ham United just TEN MINUTES before the end of the window after terms were agreed.

The Hammers saw moves for James Tarkowski, Wesley Fofana and Nikola Milenkovic all fall through and thought they had the England international signed up on loan.
But the 22-year-old opted to stay at Stamford Bridge and fight for his place, despite falling down the pecking order after the arrival of Thiago Silva.

Fulham were also busy on deadline day, securing the signings of Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Joachim Andersen on loan deals until the end of the season.
The 24-year-old England international has made just one start for Chelsea this season and will hope to play more regularly under Scott Parker to boost his chances of playing at the European Championships next summer.
Conceding goals has been a real issue for the Cottagers, with 24-year-old Danish centre-back Andersen moving to Craven Cottage in the hope of keeping goals out.
