England joint favourites to WIN Euro 2020 with Scotland and Wales rank outsiders, Harry Kane tipped for Golden Boot ahead of Ronaldo and Mbappe

So we finally know which 24 nations will compete in Euro 2020 – four months after the final of the tournament was originally scheduled to take place.

The finals were obviously postponed by a year due to unforeseen events but it only means the continent will look on with added anticipation next June.

It was a dramatic night of play-offs on Thursday as Scotland qualified for their first major tournament since 1998 with a nail-biting win over Serbia via penalties.

However, there was heartbreak for Northern Ireland, who were beaten by Slovakia in extra-time. Hungary and North Macedonia were the other two nations to book their places in the finals.

Scotland’s success has led to a mouth-watering group stage match, where they face the Auld Enemy England at Wembley, sparking memories of when the two nations met at Euro ’96.

Most fans would back England to win that clash on June 18, but it seems the bookies are backing Gareth Southgate’s men to make a real mark on the tournament.

The Three Lions, along with Belgium and France, are joint-favourites to win Euro 2020, according to Betfair.

Just behind that trio are three-time winners Germany, who are currently at 7/1 to win the title.

Spain and the Netherlands are not far off with both sides at 15/2, while reigning champions Portugal are 14/1.

As for the other home nations, Wales, who finished second in their group, have odds of 100/1.

And although celebrations of Scotland’s qualification are likely to continue for some days, their chances of winning Euro 2020 are slim indeed at 250/1.

Betfair are also offering odds on who the top scorer will be as well as UEFA’s player of the tournament prize.

It’s success for England again, with star striker Harry Kane tipped to get more goals than anyone else, with odds of 5/1.

Kane has beaten the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Romelu Lukaku, Kylian Mbappe and England teammate Raheem Sterling.

But in terms of player of the tournament, Kane is fourth favourite at 14/1, with Belgium and Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne leading the way.

Further down there are surprising odds on Virgil van Dijk and Eden Hazard scooping the best player prize, both at 25/1.

Netherlands and Liverpool centre-back Van Dijk is currently recovering from an ACL injury – and may not be fit for the tournament – while Hazard has struggled for form since moving to Real Madrid from Chelsea in the summer of 2019.
