West Ham vs Manchester United: Red Devils’ exceptional away form could see Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side make history with London Stadium win

Manchester United have hardly set the world alight this season but there’s no denying their form on the road has been exceptional.

Four of the Red Devils’ five wins this season have all come away from Old Trafford, giving them the best record of any Premier League team this term.

Undeniably, their home form has been a massive disappointment, which is strange given the fact United have prided themselves on being a powerhouse at Old Trafford.

If they beat West Ham at the London Stadium this weekend – a match which is LIVE on talkSPORT – United could in fact make more history.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have won each of their past eight Premier League away games, their longest away winning run in league history – and they will hope to extend that to nine matches on Saturday.

The Red Devils are also looking to win their first five games on the road in a single league campaign for the first time since 1985/86.

United have also been the comeback kings this term, winning more points from losing positions than any other Premier League side in 2020/21 (12).

They have come from behind to win all four of their away games so far in the campaign to date.

However, they face a West Ham side who are bang on form right now.

The Hammers have made their best start to a season since they moved to the London Stadium four years ago.

With the help of VAR, David Moyes’ side climbed above Manchester City, United, Villa, Everton, Wolves and Southampton in the table with a victory over Aston Villa on Monday night.

On Friday, Sebastien Haller insisted West Ham is a happier place right now compared to last season.

Haller told talkSPORT: “Of course it’s a good mood if you compare it to last season.

“I won’t lie, everyone is feeling better. We have much more confidence and we don’t forget that if we are in this position it’s because we did something. We worked together.

“Also, we have been together for almost two years now, so of course, we create links and it makes the difference.”
