Charlie Austin marked his second debut for QPR with a goal as Mark Warburton’s struggling side earned a first victory in 11 games after a hard-fought 2-0 win at Luton on Tuesday night.
Austin, who has scored 49 times in 90 appearances for the Rs, nodded home from close range after Ilias Chair’s corner had been headed on at the near post by skipper Geoff Cameron.
The hosts created chances of their own, but Rangers produced a resolute defensive display at Kenilworth Road.
It appears Austin’s arrival has given the club’s goal-shy attack a major boost, with his second-half replacement Macauley Bonne finding the net with a smart finish as full-time approached.
