Cristiano Ronaldo once splashed the cash to buy every single one of his Juventus teammates an Apple iMac after he was shown a red card on his Champions League debut for the Italians.
The Portugal superstar was reduced to tears when he was dismissed for pulling the hair of Valencia defender Jeison Murillo in the 2018 group stage encounter.
Juve’s manager at the time, Massimiliano Allegri, had a rule that any misdemeanour from a player would result in them having to buy their teammates a gift as an apology.
And despite protesting his punishment for months, Ronaldo eventually succumbed to his punishment and bought all of his teammates the Apple computers, as revealed by his teammate Wojciech Szczesny.
Szczesny told Polish talk show Prosto w Szczene: “Yes, we all have an iMac.
“It took a very long time because he couldn’t process that red card and insisted high and low that he was not doing anything wrong.
“It took him a bit, about two months of arguing, but we all have received an iMac.”
Former Arsenal goalkeeper Szczesny revealed that he had also fallen foul of Allegri’s rule after he was late for training.
He explained: “I thought it was Tuesday, but it turned out to be Wednesday that day.
“Allegri called me and said everyone was already there. When I arrived half an hour late on the training field, everyone said: ‘oh, we’re getting presents!’ I ended up buying headphones for the boys.”
Allegri departed at the end of that campaign and was replaced by Maurizio Sarri at the Allianz Stadium in June 2019.
