Tottenham Hotspur are desperate for a win as they battle Leeds United on Saturday afternoon, live on talkSPORT.
Given an extended festive rest after their clash with Fulham was postponed on Wednesday night, Spurs must now rise to the occasion or risk falling further down the Premier League table.
Winless in four league fixtures, Jose Mourinho’s men aren’t quite looking the side they once were, when they were given an outside shot at the title.
They are conceding lots of goals, though, that’s one positive the Portuguese will take out of their two draws and two defeats since victory over rivals Arsenal.
But their attack now appears blunted as they struggle to take command of games, even when they do take the lead.
The decision to postpone the match with the Cottagers earlier this week clearly rankled Mourinho and he’s insisted it does NOT give his side an advantage against Leeds.
“I don’t want to speak too much about it,” he said. “Just to say I felt unprofessional, but that is the way it was.
“We were preparing ourselves for that match and of course we didn’t play and that is disruptive of what is a week of work.
“Training sessions before that would be different if we were going to play that game. People say good for me that there was no game, but only good for me if I knew there was no game.”
Tottenham team news
Gareth Bale and Giovani Lo Celso continue to be absent for Spurs with calf and thigh injuries, respectively, which they picked up in recent weeks.
There were doubts surrounding the fitness of Lucas and Carlos Vinicius, who were due to be out against Fulham too, but they are available.
Steven Bergwijn is in line for a recall having being absent from Mourinho’s last three starting XIs since the 2-1 defeat to Liverpool.
Meanwhile, Serge Aurier should return having missed the last two matches.
