Age is just a number – as Cristiano Ronaldo continues to prove.
The Juventus superstar overtook Romelu Lukaku in the Serie A goal standings with a brace on Monday night as Andrea Pirlo’s men ran out 3-0 winners over basement club Crotone.
Incredibly, it’s the 14th consecutive season that Ronaldo has reached 25 goals, while he’s also now scored against every team in Serie A since making the move to Italy in 2018.
It took just 38 minutes for Ronaldo to open the scoring as he headed the reigning champions in front.
And Ronaldo was at it again in first-half injury time to double his team’s lead with another header.
The Portuguese star did, however, miss a golden opportunity to complete his hat-trick after the interval with the goal at his mercy.
Weston McKennie added a third goal for Juve from close range after the hour mark when Crotone failed to clear a corner.
Ronaldo’s double saw him overtake Lukaku (17) with 18 league goals this season, while Zlatan Ibrahmovic is joint third on 14 along with Lazio’s Ciro Immobile.
Juve face a huge challenge to defend their title, and currently lie eight points behind the leaders Inter Milan – although they do have a game in hand.
