Marcelo Bielsa is at the top of Alan Brazil’s wish list to replace Neil Lennon at Celtic.
With the Hoops trailing runaway Scottish Premiership leaders Rangers by 18 points, Lennon resigned from his role on Wednesday.
And former Scotland international Brazil, a boyhood Hoops fan who came through their academy, would ‘love’ Leeds boss Bielsa to take charge of Celtic.
Bielsa has been praised by the masses for his attacking brand of football with Leeds sitting 10th in the Premier League table.
Brazil told talkSPORT: “You know who I would love to come in? It’s not going to happen, for me it’s the Celtic way… Bielsa.
“I’d love someone like him to come up there and get them buzzing, playing free-flowing football, chasing every ball and harrying, but that’s not going to happen.”
While naming other candidates for the job, Brazil thinks Martin O’Neill would be a popular appointment among Celtic fans.
The Northern Irishman, who has been out of work since leaving Nottingham Forest in 2019, guided Celtic to three Scottish Premiership titles between 2000 and 2005.
Brazil added: “A couple of the other names mentioned, Roberto Martinez, why would he leave Belgium?
“Henrik [Larsson], the fans loved him, he was a God up there, but he’s inexperienced.
“Would Martin O’Neill come back? He has a great relationship with Mr [Dermot] Desmond, would he come back with maybe a younger manager? That would go down well.
“Eddie Howe is a bright, young manager. I can’t see Frank Lampard going there. Mark Hughes, would Mark go up there? I don’t know.
“So I think Martin is one of the frontrunners if he wants it.”
