Paul Dickov says Man City have the best squad in Europe and has tipped his former side to win this season’s Champions League.
Pep Guardiola’s men are top of the Premier League table thanks to a 18-match winning run – beating Arsenal 1-0 on Sunday – which stretches back to December 19.
And former City striker Dickov has hailed the current ‘unstoppable’ and ‘frightening’ squad, which has coped well without star men Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne for large parts of the season.
Dickov told The Warm Up on talkSPORT: “You go and score four away at Liverpool, three away at Everton and three at home to Tottenham; they just look unstoppable at the minute.
“It doesn’t matter who comes in, the squad is just looking that strong. The other night [Ilkay] Gundogan was out, Phil Foden steps up, Bernardo Silva steps up.
“If somebody else isn’t in there doing it, they’ve got so much quality within the squad that it’s just frightening.
“I genuinely believe it’s the best squad in Europe. One to 11 you’ve got some fantastic teams in there and City are right up there with them all.
“They’ve coped without De Bruyne and Aguero and Gundogan recently.
“You look at their bench sometimes and their bench would walk into any other team.”
A Champions League trophy has eluded City in their history, however, Dickov believes they can win the competition this season if everyone is able to stay fit.
He added: “People ask me all the time, ‘can they win the Champions League this year?’
“I genuinely think they can if they keep everybody fit because if someone is not quite doing it or Pep wants to rest someone, there are world class players good enough to come in and do the job.
“They’ve got that right the way through the team.”
