Chelsea fan torn to shreds by Andy Goldstein and Jason Cundy for saying he wants Man City to win the quadruple, despite Blues still being in FA Cup and Champions League

The Sports Bar is not unaccustomed to the occasional bizarre fan caller, but this one even shocked long-time talkSPORT hosts Andy Goldstein and Jason Cundy.

Matt the Chelsea supporter rang up on Tuesday night after Manchester City eased through to the Champions League quarter-finals by beating Borussia Monchengladbach.

🤔 Andy: “You don’t want them to win the quadruple, do you??”

🏆 Matt: “I do! They’re probably going to do it!”

😡 Jason: “No you don’t!! Chelsea are still in two of the competitions!!”

The Sports Bar presenters were not prepared for this call

After initially calling to urge United fan Goldstein to give credit to his Manchester rivals, the tables were then turned on Matt.

Goldstein asked him: “You don’t want them to do the quadruple, do you?”

And the Chelsea fan replied: “I do, yes.”

At this point former Blues defender Cundy was stunned and interrupted: “No you don’t, Chelsea are still in two competitions for God’s sake.”

City could still win all four major competitions this season

👏 “City are as good as anything I’ve seen in the Champions League.”

👀 “I don’t think they’ll get a better chance [to win it].”

🏆 “The Man City fans must be sensing that it’s their year…”

Matt replied: “Yeah, but we’re not gonna win them.”

Cundy said: “Why can’t we win the FA Cup? We’re still in it, we’ve got Sheffield United at the weekend.”

Matt answered: “We’ll beat them, we’ll beat them. But when it comes to Man City right now—”

Before he could finish his sentence, Goldstein cracked up laughing and said: “That’s amazing.”

Cundy urged the fan to retract his statement, but he insisted: “No, no, no.”

Chelsea will attempt to battle against Man City for trophies, but Matt isn’t optimistic

Goldstein clarified: “You want Man City to win the Champions League and the FA Cup?”

Matt reiterated: “Yes, I do, yes.”

In the final exchange of the conversation, they were able to agree somewhat as Goldstein posed one more question to Matt.

The talkSPORT host asked: “If it’s Chelsea vs City in the final of the Champions League, and Man City win the quadruple if they beat Chelsea. Who do you wanna win?”

Matt responded: “Obviously Chelsea, but we will not beat Man City.”
