Cristiano Ronaldo marked his 600th league appearance with his 20th Serie A goal of the season as Juventus comfortably dispatched Spezia.
In doing so, he became the first footballer in history to score 20 or more goals in Europe’s top five leagues in the last 12 seasons.
The 36-year-old finished off a quick counter-attack to score Juve’s third goal in a 3-0 win in Turin, with Alvaro Morata and Federico Chiesa also getting on the scoresheet.
Ronaldo’s incredible run started in the 2009-10 season after joining Real Madrid from Manchester United for a then-world record fee. He managed 18 Premier League goals in his final season at Old Trafford.
He scored at least 25 times in LaLiga during each of his nine seasons at the Bernabeu, managing to hit 40 on three occasions.
In his first two seasons in Serie A after making the move to Juve in 2018, Ronaldo scored 53 goals. He has also managed seven in other competitions this season.
The win moves the Old Lady to within three points of AC Milan in third position in the table. But Juventus are in serious danger of surrendering their title.
Juve have won Serie A for the past nine seasons in a row, but Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan sit top at the moment on 56 points.
The Nerazzurri defeated Juventus 2-0 earlier in the season, but Ronaldo and Co. have the chance to exact revenge in the reverse fixture on May 16.
