Erling Haaland made an unbelievable start to Saturday’s Klassiker as he scored twice inside the first nine minutes of the game.
The striker had been on the goal drought for Borussia Dortmund – a mere two games – but he soon ended that.
It took the 20-year-old just 74 seconds to score against Bayern Munich when his deflected shot beat Manuel Neuer.
The first may have been lucky but the second showed his pure predatory goalscoring instincts.
Haaland found space in the box and neatly finished Thorgan Hazard’s cross to make it 2-0 to Dortmund inside nine minutes.
It was the Norway international’s 19th Bundesliga goal of the season in just his 19th game – it also takes his total to the season to 29.
It was a start that was quite unexpected, considering Dortmund were without Jadon Sancho as he missed out through injury.
Gio Reyna and Raphael Guerreiro were also unavailable while Jude Bellingham was named on the bench.
Robert Lewandowski didn’t take long to reply, though, as he reduced the deficit to just one when he found the net in the 26th minute.
What a Klassiker it’s shaping up to be.
