Anything Erling Haaland can do, Robert Lewandowski can do better.
The Borussia Dortmund hotshot made an unbelievable start to Saturday’s Klassiker as he scored twice inside the first nine minutes at the Allianz Arena.
The striker, 20, had been on the goal drought for Borussia Dortmund – a mere two games – but he soon ended that.
It took him just 74 seconds to score against Bayern Munich when his deflected shot beat Manuel Neuer.
The first may have been lucky but the second showed his pure predatory goalscoring instincts.
Haaland found space in the box and neatly finished Thorgan Hazard’s cross to make it 2-0 to Dortmund inside nine minutes. The Norway international has 19 Bundesliga goals this season in just his 19th game – it also takes his total to the season to 29.
However, Bayern have their own hotshot and Mr Lewandowski woke up to show Haaland who’s boss.
The Pole responded with a brilliant hat-trick as Bayern came back from 2-0 down to claim a 4-2 victory.
Lewandowski pulled one back on 26 minutes before getting his second from the penalty spot just before half time to conclude an enthralling first half.
Leon Goretzka made it 3-2 to Bayern in the 88th minute before Lewandowski completed his treble two minutes later.
This really was a Klassiker.
