VAR controversially denied Fulham an equaliser against Tottenham for a handball just before they scored.
The moment proved decisive in the match with Scott Parker’s side falling to a 1-0 defeat at Craven Cottage.
An own-goal by Tosin Adarabioyo in the first-half proved to be enough for Spurs to pick up all three points.
Jose Mourinho handed a surprise start for Dele Alli as he lined-up alongside Harry Kane, Heung-min Son and Gareth Bale.
All had a hand in the Spurs goal with Son crossing to Alli, whose shot was heading wide but took a touch off the Fulham defender to send it in after 20 minutes.
Kane then wanted a penalty but VAR did not agree with him.
The striker went down in the box when the ball was played into his path and referee David Coote waved away his appeals.
Stockley Park took a long look at the incident and decided to side wit the referee – he was not sent over to the monitor to have a look again.
It is tough to see if there is contact or not, but the Spurs captain did not agree with the decision.
talkSPORT hosts Danny Murphy and Adrian Durham questioned why VAR officials did not recommend Kane be booked if they didn’t think it was a penalty.
Murphy said: “I’d have to see it again but it looked a clear penalty as a quick rewatch. If VAR have looked at it, and he’s properly gone over, then it’s a dive isn’t it?”
Durham added: “You’d think that. I think it needs looking at more closely. That’s one of the problems with VAR, I don’t think it gives a yellow card for diving for penalty decisions. Maybe that should be brought in?”
Fulham looked to have equalised when Josh Maja put the ball in the back of the net, only for it to be ruled out by VAR.
The goal was reviewed for a handball by Mario Lemina in the build-up and, with the ball judged to have hit the midfielder’s arm before falling to Maja, the effort was disallowed.
Spurs found themselves under plenty of pressure late on but held on to stop their run of three straight away defeats in the Premier League.
Fulham remain three points off safety with 11 games left to play.
