The Premier League will consider asking the government allow fans to attend top-flight matches before May 17, talkSPORT understands.
Under Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s current road map out of lockdown, Premier League clubs will be permitted to host 10,000 supporters for the final day of top-flight action this season.
At least one club have voiced their unhappiness about playing away from home and without having their own fans in attendance for their final home game of the campaign.
And the Premier League is set to meet with shareholders on Thursday and will discuss the possibility of having fans inside stadiums for the final two rounds of fixtures.
talkSPORT has been told up to 1,000 of the 10,000 tickets could be distributed to away fans subject to government approval.
Stadiums have not been at full capacity for over a year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Fans are set to make their long-awaited return for the Carabao Cup final between Man City and Tottenham on April 25.
But the EFL has said it does not yet have confirmation over the amount of supporters Wembley can host for the clash.
A statement read: “The EFL notes the continued speculation in respect of whether supporters – and in what number – will be in attendance at the Carabao Cup final next month.
“It has always been our intention to be able see supporters back at Wembley Stadium for this game and this was the sole rationale behind moving it from its February date.
“Despite continuing positive discussions with the relevant stakeholders and authorities we do not have any confirmation as to what will be permitted as part of any potential test event at this stage and felt it important to clarify the position out of courtesy to the two participating clubs and particularly their supporters.
“We remain hopeful of achieving a successful conclusion and will advise on the outcome in due course.”
