Sergio Aguero ended his 417 day Premier League drought as Man City produced a devastating second-half display to brush aside relegation-threatened Fulham in a 3-0 victory at Craven Cottage.
John Stones and Gabriel Jesus were also on target for Pep Guardiola’s men, who have equalled a club record 16 games unbeaten on the road and now lie a mammoth 17 points clear at the top of the Premier League.
Guardiola made seven changes to the City side which beat Southampton 5-2 on Wednesday night, with Aguero and Jesus both starting.
Joao Cancelo, John Stones, Benjamin Mendy, Rodri and Ferran Torres were the other changes.
City took the lead in west London with their first attack of the second half, after Fulham had worked hard in the opening 45 to keep the score level.
Stones tapped into the back of the net from a ball into the box by Joao Cancelo, outdoing all Fulham’s hard work from the first half.
Less than 10 minutes later and City doubled their advantage after a fortunate rebound.
Joachim Andersen cleared the ball into his team-mate Ivan Cavaleiro, and it rebounded behind the Fulham backline and into the path of Jesus, who had enough time and space to round the goalkeeper before putting the ball in the back of the net.
The visitors made it 3-0 soon after as former City man Tosin Adarabioyo was penalised for a push on Ferran Torres in the penalty box and referee Andre Marriner pointed immediately to the penalty spot.
Aguero then fired the ball into the corner of the goal and past Alphonse Areola, who had dived the right way.
