Thierry Henry brilliantly mocks Jamie Carragher for being ‘two metres away’ as Arsenal hero returns to Monday Night Football for Wolves vs Liverpool

It didn’t take long for Thierry Henry to poke some fun at Jamie Carragher following his hotly-anticipated return to Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football.

The Arsenal icon, who recently resigned from his managerial role with Montreal Impact after two years in the MLS, was swiftly drafted back into the studio for Liverpool’s clash against Wolves at Molineux.

Henry, Carragher and presenter David Jones crossed to Sky Sports News previewed the programme which starts at 7pm.

Jones introduced Henry, saying: “Thierry we have missed you but the searching question is, how much have you missed us?”

Henry had his colleagues laughing straight away, replying: “Not a lot to be fair.”

He then brilliantly mocked Carragher, referring back to their playing days where Henry would often get the better of him.

“No, no, no, I have missed you guys,” Henry said.

“Happy to be back, strange. It’s been a long time, two-and-a-half years.

“It’s been a long time but happy to be back, happy to see Jamie. Two metres apart from me like in a game!”

Henry and Carragher both went viral for their brilliant reaction to the news of Brendan Rodgers’ sacking at Liverpool in 2015.

The infamous on-screen moment captured Henry placing his hand on Carragher’s knee as both expressed their shock at Rodgers’ Anfield dismissal.

Henry regularly featured as a pundit Sky before deciding to pursue his desire to be a manager in 2018 but he is keen to return to coaching after two years with Montreal.

When asked what his ambitions were, he said: “Definitely a coach out of work.”

“It’s been a difficult season. I think we will talk about it later on because we don’t have the time right now.

“But it’s been a tough season, I’m still enjoying coaching, I think this is my path.

“But I will give an explanation as to why I had to come back and be with you tonight.
