Cristiano Ronaldo ‘tempted’ by Manchester United transfer as Juventus may sanction move

Cristian Ronaldo is said to be ‘tempted’ by a sensational return to Manchester United, according to reports in Italy.

The Portuguese superstar began his trajectory into stardom during his time at Old Trafford, scoring a whopping 118 goals in 292 appearances for the club.

Ronaldo also led United to Champions League glory in 2008 and won the first of five Ballons d’Or the same year.

The Portuguese international won the same competition four times with Real Madrid, as well as two LaLiga titles, after joining the club in 2009.

His move to Juventus in 2018 has been polarizing, with the Italian giants struggling in the league and failing to get beyond the quarter-finals in the Champions League, meaning a change of scenery may be on his mind.

Reports from Gazzetta dello Sport suggest the football legend is unhappy in Italy, and would prefer a move back to Spain or England.

Ronaldo’s wages could be a big factor that determines his move, as he is on a huge salary of £27million per year.

COVID-19 and potential financial penalties after the European Super League fiasco mean a sale by Juventus is a possibility.

At 36 years old his legendary playing career could be coming to an end soon and many view a move back to United as a fairytale ending.

With Edinson Cavani linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer the five-time Ballon d’Or winner could be the perfect replacement.

United fans would surely welcome him back with open arms.
