Granit Xhaka was left livid with his Arsenal teammates as they conceded a late equaliser in their 1-1 draw to Slavia Prague.
A stoppage-time header by Tomas Holes cancelled out Nicolas Pepe’s late strike to leave the Europa League quarter-final tie hanging in the balance.
And just after the goal went in, Xhaka was heard ranting at his Arsenal teammates.
According to Goal reporter Charles Watts, Xhaka said: “Just clear the f****** ball away man.”
It was a strange evening for the Gunners, with Mikel Arteta opting to put captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on the bench to begin with.
They could have done with him on earlier, with Bukayo Saka missing a good chance in the first half, while Gabriel Martinelli had an effort tipped over the bar after the break.
Alexandre Lacazette missed a guilt-edged opportunity in the 62nd minute. He found himself clean through on goal as he dispossessed David Zima on the halfway line but the Frenchman could only chip his effort onto the crossbar.
The striker then fired over from six yards out as he stretched for Saka’s low cross from the right.
Aubameyang, along with Pepe and Mohamed Elneny entered the fray in the 78th minute and it was the Ivorian who appeared to have won the first leg for them as he dinked over the onrushing Ondrej Kolar.
But Slavia, who had their own chances in the second half, responded in the final minute of stoppage-time as Holes got on the end of Pepe’s mistimed clearance to head beyond Bernd Leno.
