Jude Bellingham earns first red card of senior career and Erling Haaland scores fine double as Borussia Dortmund beat Bundesliga top-four rivals

Jude Bellingham earned the first red card of his senior career, but Erling Haaland did the business again as the striker scored twice in Borussia Dortmund’s 2-0 win over top-four rivals Wolfsburg.

With Champions League qualification a priority for the Ruhr-based side, Haaland’s second strike took him to 25 for the season – making him the first player in the club’s history to score twice in ten league games in one season.

Yet it was not all positive for BVB, as their young English starlet Bellingham saw red in the 59th minute after picking up a second yellow.

The 17-year-old England international was booked for the second time in the game for a clumsy tackle on Wolfsburg’s Kevin Mbabu in the second-half, having been initially booked shortly after Haaland’s opening goal in the 12th minute.

It was the first sending-off of Bellingham’s career and he will now be banned for Dortmund’s next game – a monster showdown with second-placed RB Leipzig.

Dortmund are one point off the top-four in the Bundesligaand two points behind third-placed Wolfsburg, with just three games remaining this season.

In-demand Haaland’s double also saw the 20-year-old break Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s club record of away goals scored in a single season for BVB, with the Norwegian star now on 16.

Bellingham’s first career red card also came on a day he was described as ‘untouchable’ by transfer insiders, amid links with a stunning move to the Premier League.

The teen, who joined Dortmund from hometown club Birmingham City last summer for around £25million, has enjoyed a stunning and rapid rise to the first-team in Germany and has earned praise for his performances at the highest level in the Champions League this season.

According to reports from Eurosport, Chelsea are among the top clubs tracking Bellingham’s progress at Dortmund amid rumours the Bundesliga club would already demand a staggering £100m for the 17-year-old.

However, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano revealed on Saturday that BVB consider the young English midfielder as ‘untouchable’ and is definitely staying put this summer.
