West Brom ‘play like Brazil’ to EMBARRASS ten-man Chelsea as Thomas Tuchel loses first Blues match by getting hit for FIVE at home

West Brom produced the biggest upset of the season to date by smashing ten-man Chelsea 5-2 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Thomas Tuchel suffered the first defeat of his Blues reign in the most unexpected fashion as Sam Allardyce’s men turned on the style.

Chelsea looked to be cruising towards the result many expected when Christian Pulisic put the hosts ahead on 27 minutes, but a red card for Thiago Silva two minutes later changed everything.

Having conceded just two goals in more than two months under Tuchel, Matheus Pereira matched that tally in first-half stoppage time to give the visitors a shock lead.

And the surprises just kept coming as Callum Robinson netted a stunning volley, before Mbaye Diagne rounded off an incredible move to make it four.

Mason Mount pulled one back for Chelsea to seemingly limit their embarrassment, but it was West Brom who looked like the Premier League high-flyers on Saturday.

And as if four wasn’t enough, Robinson got his second with a superb dink at the death.

Speaking on commentary for talkSPORT, West Ham legend Alvin Martin insisted it was like watching Brazil.

“Back heels, flicks, finishes, wonderful,” Martin said after the Baggies’ fourth goal. “How Sammy Lee is standing there on the touchline with his hands in his pockets, because I’d be jumping around all over the place.

“It’s like watching Brazil!”

He added: “There’s no explanation, I can’t put into words how to describe what we’ve seen today.

“5-2 is a scoreline I would have laughed at, but all the finishes from West Brom have been excellent, really clinical, technically excellent.

“There’s something not quite right with Chelsea, they’re not as sharp or as good as they usually are and they’ve been like that from the start of the game.”

Despite their heroics, West Brom are still seven points from safety, having played a game more than 17th-place Newcastle.

Meanwhile, Chelsea could now slip out of the Premier League top four this weekend, as West Ham and Tottenham could both leapfrog the Blues with victory.
