Danny Murphy is not surprised to see Graham Potter linked with the Tottenham job.
Despite battling relegation with Brighton in his two seasons in charge, Potter has gained several plaudits for the attacking brand of football of his side plays.

He has emerged as one of the bookmakers’ favourites to become the next permanent Spurs manager after club chairman Daniel Levy sacked Jose Mourinho last month.
And former Murphy believes it could make sense for his former club to turn to a lesser name in Potter – just like they did with Mauricio Pochettino, who took charge of Spurs in 2014 after an 18-month spell with Southampton.
He told talkSPORT: “I understand [the link] because of the way Brighton play.
“Similarly we were talking off air about when Tottenham brought in Pochettino. He’d only been at Southampton for five minutes before they took him.
“So they could go down that route again. It might surprise one or two.
“Tottenham fans generally want someone who has been there and done it before, but they’ve just gone down that road and it didn’t work.
“So I’m not surprised he [Potter] is linked with the job, but we’ll have to wait and see.”

Brighton all but confirmed their Premier League status for another season with a 2-0 win over Leeds on Saturday.
The Seagulls have the best defensive record in the bottom half of the table having conceded just 39 goals this season.
And Brighton defender Adam Webster has praised Potter for the way he sets his team up.

The 26-year-old told talkSPORT’s Jim White: “The way he sets us up every week is amazing.
“We all have a clear understanding of our roles and responsibilities within the team and the way we press and how we can hurt teams.
“So it really does give us the best opportunity to go and get three points.
“The performances throughout the whole season have been pretty good.”
