Manchester City’s wait for a fifth Premier League title is over with Manchester United’s 2-1 loss at home to Leicester confirming them as champions.
Pep Guardiola’s side blew the chance to wrap up the title at the weekend as they were beaten by Chelsea but only had to wait three more days for what’s been inevitable for some time to happen.

The Red Devils, who are now an unassailable ten points off the leaders, fell behind when Luke Thomas brilliantly volleyed home on ten minutes.
The 19-year-old left-back told Jamie Vardy to leave Youri Tielemans’ looping cross, and with good reason too. Thomas beautifully connected with the ball, which flew into the top corner.
Leicester’s lead didn’t last long though with Mason Greenwood levelling on 15 minutes.
Greenwood, the player to retain his starting spot from the win at Aston Villa, shifted the ball to his right before finding the corner of the net with a well-placed strike.

But Leicester responded excellently to that and continued to ask questions of Man United, with De Gea tipping Tielemans’ cross just over the bar.
The visitors dominated the second half and almost went in front when Kelechi Iheanacho found himself through on goal but could only fire straight at De Gea from a tight angle.
De Gea could do nothing about Caglar Soyuncu’s powerful header, the Turkish defender putting in Marc Albrighton’s corner from the right on 66 minutes which proved to be the winner.
The result also has huge bearings on the top four race, with Leicester now up to third and eight points clear of fifth-placed West Ham.
