Mikel Arteta has ‘no chance’ of keeping his Arsenal job after the club’s Europa League exit to Villarreal.
That is the view of Gunners fan John, who watched his side play out a goalless draw as they were unable to overturn a 2-1 first leg deficit in the semi-final tie on Thursday.

Arsenal will play the 2021/22 season without European football for the first time in 25 years unless they bridge a seven-point gap to sixth-placed Tottenham in their final four Premier League games this month.
It is a big ask with the Gunners languishing in ninth place and John insists Arteta must be sacked.
He told the Sports Bar on talkSPORT: “I’ve never, ever been so bored watching a semi-final in my life.
“It was like watching an end-of-season match with nothing riding on it. It was awful. It was so flat. It was ridiculous.

“The team reflects the manager’s personality. He was a dull footballer. Get back to Brick Lane because you aren’t up to being an architect, that’s for sure.
“There is no chance he stays. As bad as he is, behind the scenes is rotten to the core.
“The recruitment over the last few years has been disgraceful. So it’s a rotten club. The owners don’t care.”
John is adamant Arteta has done a worse job than Frank Lampard, who was sacked after an 18-month spell in charge of Chelsea in January.
He added: “Arteta has to go, it’s as simple as that. He’s failed like Lampard.
“Lampard did better than him and he was sacked! This guy has failed miserably. There is no way he can stay.”
One positive for Arsenal has been the emergence of youngsters Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe over the past two seasons.
However, John believes the young players have been let down by senior pros, including Willian, who is yet to score in 36 appearances since joining on a free transfer from Chelsea last summer.

John added: “With Man City and Chelsea emerging, Arsenal couldn’t really compete with them on level terms.
“Our owners should have accepted our place in the table and they should’ve adapted doing business in a similar way to Dortmund.
“There is a lot of young talent that’s been snapped up by clubs like Dortmund. Maybe we should have done that and played the young talent.
“It would have been more exciting for the fans rather than paying [Mesut] Ozil £350,000-a-week, paying this one £250,000-a-week. We should have got rid of them and played the young players.
“We have utilised that talent [this season], but unfortunately the older players have badly let us down.
“The recruitment with players like Willian are just a waste of time and money.”
