What Kieran Tierney was doing after Arsenal’s win over West Brom is exactly why so many fans see him as a future captain

This season has been miserable for Arsenal but the likes of Kieran Tierney offer hope to fans that there are better times ahead.

No matter who you support, it’s impossible not to love the Scottish full-back. The guy still shops at Tesco despite his reported £75,000-a-week wages!

But what’s really endeared him to the fans is his unshakeable commitment to Arsenal’s cause, whatever the time of day… and weather.

Tierney only made a cameo appearance during the Gunners’ win over West Brom on Sunday as he continues his recovery from a knee injury but he still put a great shift in even after the final whistle went.

It was revealed by BT Sport pundit Joe Cole that Tierney spent some minutes practicing his crosses during a warm down on the Emirates Stadium turf.

“Quick mention Tierney came out here after he played 30 minutes and he was practicing his crossing you know,” Cole said.

“We talk about characters that Arsenal need, a lot of the Arsenal fans have been calling for him to be a captain for this club.

“To do that when you are coming back from injury, shows to me that he has his finger on the pulse and this desire to take this club forward, that’s a positive.”

And few Arsenal fans would disagree with the idea of making Tierney their next captain.
