Arsenal and Aston Villa have both made £30million bids for Norwich forward Emi Buendia, reports claim.
The 24-year-old, recently named Championship Player of the Season after inspiring Norwich to promotion, has been on the Gunners’ radar since January.
However, they face stiff competition from Villa, as the Canaries hope for a bidding war which will raise the price of their star player.
According to The Sun, Norwich have accepted Buendia will leave this summer and want £40m for the Argentine, who bagged 15 goals and 16 assists in the second tier this season.
Arsenal just confirmed Martin Odegaard will return to Madrid following his successful loan spell at the Emirates, leaving a gap in their squad for Buendia to fill.
Villa could also be faced with a similar vacancy if captain Jack Grealish leaves in this window amid links to Premier League champions Manchester City.
With the England international thought to be worth around £100m, Villa would not be short of money to take Arsenal all the way in their quest for Buendia.
