Bukayo Saka is reportedly set to miss England’s friendly with Romania today due to injury.
The Arsenal teenager starred in the Three Lions’ 1-0 win over Austria in the week, with Saka scoring the only goal of the game.
But boss Gareth Southgate has been handed another injury worry just a week before their first game of Euro 2020.
The Athletic report that Saka will miss the friendly with a hip problem, but there is no indication that the problem will put his participation in the tournament in jeopardy.
It is not a problem Southgate will want at the moment with injuries already dominating the headlines.
Trent Alexander-Arnold has had to withdraw from the squad due to a thigh injury, while there are concerns over Jordan Henderson and Harry Maguire.
The Liverpool and Manchester United captains are battling to be ready to play some part in Euro 2020.
Saka had been tipped to play an important role for England this summer by former Arsenal academy manager Liam Brady.
Brady told the talkSPORT Sports Breakfast: “It looks as if he was one of the last decisions Gareth Southgate had to make – and it could be a very important one.
“I have a feeling if he is to get a chance in these Euros he’ll give the manager something to think about.
“It might be that his first appearance will be as a substitute, but he’s the kind of kid that can come on for 20 minutes and make an impact and then perhaps make the position his own for the rest of the tournament.
“That wouldn’t surprise me if that happened.”
