With the absence of fans roaring from the stands this season, the sound of football – apart from the talkSPORT gang – has been the brilliant ‘Original Parker Material’.
Yes, the memes around Fulham boss Scott Parker have kept fans entertained as clever users, with @MarkyPickard kicking things off, getting creative with the Londoner’s passionate interviews.

Parker was over the moon to have led Fulham to the Premier League and it inspired a version of ‘Dry Your Eyes’, which, eight months later, saw the ‘Relegation Edition’ created when, despite some brilliant football played, the west London side went straight back to the Championship.
Now Twitter has crowned it the ‘unofficial meme of the season’ and created their own version of ‘Don’t Mug Yourself’ with Parker replacing Mike Skinner.
“The memes have had such a brilliant response from football fans and music fans alike that we’ve decided to give them what they’ve been crying out for – a genuine musical collaboration between the Premier League’s most poetic manager and British music’s most iconic storyteller,” Viv Bowdler, creative strategist at Twitter UK said.
In collecting the gong – albeit an unofficial one – Parker takes his place alongside Ruben Dias, Pep Guardiola and Erik Lamela, who won Footballer, Manager and Goal of the season awards respectively.
On his day job, though, talkSPORT understands Parker would be tempted to leave Fulham and take over at Bournemouth, who have a long-standing interest in the manager dating back to when Eddie Howe left at the end of the 2019/2020 season.
Current boss Jonathan Woodgate’s contract runs out this summer.
