Wolves have been very busy this weekend having announced the signing of Marcal from Lyon on Sunday.
The left-back, 31, has signed a two-year contract at Molineux, with Wolves paying the French side a £1.78million fee.
Marcal was at Lyon for three years, helping them reach the Champions League semi-finals last season.
“Having played over 280 games in top leagues, as well as Champions League football, Marcal will add a huge amount of experience to our young team,” said Wolves executive chairman Jeff Shi.
“He is a player with the technical ability to be able to contribute in the build-up play from the back, all the way through to threatening the opposition in the final phase.”
The signing is Wolves’ second in as many days but it’s also their second of the entire window.
On Saturday, they acquired Portuguese teenager Fabio Silva from Porto for a club-record fee of £35.6m.
Silva, 18, has been described as a ‘generational talent’.
Brazilian Marcal can play at left-back or wing-back and will bolster Wolves’ options in the position after Jonny Otto suffered a cruciate ligament injury last month.
Nuno Espirito Santo also said goodbye to right-back Matt Doherty, who joined Tottenham last month.
