Manchester United AND Man City eye Mauricio Pochettino as former Tottenham boss linked with Premier League return

Former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino could return to the Premier League with both Manchester United and Man City keen on him.

United have long been linked with the Argentine and rumours have resurfaced over the past few weeks as the pressure mounts on incumbent manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Last week’s 6-1 thrashing by Tottenham saw the odds crash on Solskjaer being the next Premier League manager to leave his job, and the Mirror claim United are now eyeing ex-Spurs boss Pochettino once again.

However, United are aware that their fierce local rivals Man City are also keen on Poch.

There are growing doubts over Pep Guardiola’s future at the Etihad, with his contract expiring at the end of the season. Failures in the Champions League have seen pressure mount on the Catalan, and there have been no signs he intends to pen a new deal.

Understandably, Pochettino is wanted by City as well as United having performed so well during his time in north London, though he did fail in his quest to win silverware for Spurs.

Pochettino is nearing a year out of work having been sacked by Tottenham last November. He was quickly replaced by Jose Mourinho, who oversaw Spurs’ thrashing of United, one of his former clubs, last weekend.
