West Ham bid rejected for Josh King as Bournemouth star hopes to secure transfer before ‘second deadline’

Josh King’s hopes of leaving Bournemouth have suffered a blow with the Cherries rejecting a West Ham offer for the forward.

talkSPORT understands the Hammers submitted a £13million bid for the 28-year-old.

It’s also understood that personal terms have been agreed between West Ham and King, something which Bournemouth are reportedly furious with as the two clubs are yet to agree a fee.

The striker is keen on a move away from the south coast club following their relegation from the Premier League last season.

After failing to get a move before deadline day last Monday, King’s last hope is the ‘second deadline’ on Friday, which allows domestic deals involving players from EFL clubs still to happen.

King has been linked with a number of other clubs this window, including Tottenham, Aston Villa and Newcastle.

He almost completed a move to Manchester United, where he started his professional career, back in January.

West Ham have also been linked with King’s Bournemouth teammate, Steve Cook, who’s been with the club since 2012.

King has made just one appearance for Bournemouth this season in all competitions. He missed their last outing in the Championship due to a ‘migraine headache’.
