Richarlison has further angered Liverpool supporters with his social media activity after his red card challenge on Thiago.
Everton’s Brazilian attacker was sent off for a nasty challenge on the Spaniard during the 2-2 Merseyside Derby draw on Saturday.
By the evening, Richarlison had apologised, seemingly attempted to defend himself and then deleted this effort.
The initial apology statement on his website read: “Everyone who knows my background knows that I was never a violent player.
“What happened today was a fatality from sheer over-dedication. I did not enter that dispute with the intention of hurting Thiago.
“When I saw that the crash was going to happen, I picked up my foot and hit him with my knee in the pass, which was inevitable due to the speed of the play.
“I already sent a message to him apologising and I also do it here publicly. I hope he hasn’t been hurt and that everything is fine.
“I also apologise to my teammates, my club and my fans for leaving them with one less at the end of the game.
“Unfortunately, there is nothing I can do to change what happened, other than to reflect, work and move on. Richarlison.”
Not long later though, the 23-year-old tweeted an screenshot of the challenge seemingly trying to prove it wasn’t as bad as some have said.
This infuriated Liverpool fans and was soon deleted.
However, he’s since replied to another tweet defending himself once more.
In response to the message which told him, “You have repeatedly done this Richarlison,” he replied, “Repeatedly? When did I do this before?”
Should fans be allowed back at Anfield by the time the season’s second derby comes around, the Brazilian can expect a frosty reception to say the least.
