Alan Pardew has landed his latest job as technical director at Bulgarian side CSKA Sofia.
The 59-year-old had been out of work since April after leaving Dutch outfit ADO Den Haag by mutual consent following the cancellation of the Eredivisie season.
Pardew was unveiled on Monday at the club who have not won the Bulgarian title since 2008.
“Army men, English football specialist Alan Pardew will henceforth be part of the big red family of the Army,” read a statement on the club’s website on Monday.
“He will take the position of technical director and will help with his vast experience and contacts in the overall development of the club and attracting players to the representative team.
“The 59-year-old Briton has already signed his contract and started working immediately. Welcome to the Army, Mr Alan Pardew!”
Pardew has not worked in English football since his disastrous spell in charge of West Brom that lasted just 21 games and yielded three wins.
His managerial career started at Reading in 1999 and he got them promoted to the second tier of English football in 2002.
From there he moved to West Ham, where highlights included reaching the 2006 FA Cup final, before having spells at Charlton and Southampton.
Pardew then joined Newcastle and was famously handed an eight-year contract in 2012, which would have only expired last summer, but was sacked two years later.
He was then appointed by Crystal Palace in 2015 but was gone less than two years later having taken them to the FA Cup final in the 2015/16 season.
