Unlike I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here star Jordan North, Turf Moor hasn’t been a particularly happy place for Burnley lately.
However, that all changed on Monday night as Sean Dyche’s side secured their first Premier League win of the season, with Chris Wood scoring the winner against Crystal Palace.
It’s the first time Burnley have tasted a home league victory since June 25 at the ground they’ve occupied since 1883.
But more importantly, it takes them out of the relegation zone as they look to recover from their bad start to the season.
You may remember that Turf Moor went viral last week as Radio 1 DJ and diehard Burnley fan North was hilariously heard going into his ‘happy place’ while doing a Bushtucker trial on the ITV show.
Jay Rodriguez, who’s Burnley born and bred, made light of North’s antics on the show by suggesting his Clarets teammates have made him do his best impression of the I’m a Celeb contestant at the training ground.
And after the match, Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher was in typically mischievous mood as he got the player to recite North’s famous words in a hilarious exchange.
Rodriguez said: “Obviously the lad’s from Burnley and I’ve got a Burnley accent… and he gets a little bit of stick for saying it’s his happy place.
“But it’s all good fun, the lads are giving me a bit of grief when they can!”
Carragher then said: “Well you can’t set us up like that and not say it!”
And after a bit of giggling, Rodriguez said: “Really?… Happy place, happy place, Turf Moor! I’m definitely not screaming like Jordan North.”
Presenter Dave Jones then quipped: “Well done Jay, that was the only reason Jamie Carragher wanted to get you on this evening!”
