Jurgen Klopp has once again hit out at broadcasters after Liverpool’s shock 2-0 home defeat to Atalanta in the Champions League.
Goals from Josip Ilicic and Robin Gosens inflicted a first defeat on the Reds in nine games on Wednesday evening.
Liverpool failed to register shot on target against a team they thrashed 5-0 in the reverse fixture just three weeks ago, despite the luxury of having top scorer Mohamed Salah available for selection after recovering from coronavirus.
Prior to the game, Klopp expressed his frustration at playing in the Champions League on Wednesday and then being forced to travel to Brighton for Saturday’s 12.30pm kick-off.
And he took another swipe at broadcasters when asked about Liverpool’s failure to register a shot on target against Atalanta.
He said: “I’m not surprised about that. But how I said… yeah… I’m afraid to say it but I think it could happen not only to us, but to other teams.
“You, my special friends ask us to go on at 12.30pm on Saturday, which is nearly a crime, to be honest, nearly a crime.
“But it’s nothing to do with the game tonight, but congratulations for that.
“My only interest at the moment is I got a thumbs up, nobody was injured and let’s recover immediately.
“The boys are completely disappointed, frustrated, but we don’t have time for that to be honest.
“It’s just about getting fresh legs as quickly as possible and going again.”
You can listen to Liverpool’s Premier League clash against Brighton LIVE on talkSPORT from 12.30pm on Saturday.
