Sky Sports commentators forced to apologise after Kevin De Bruyne heard screaming obscenities at linesman

The Sky Sports commentary team were forced to apologise to viewers after Manchester City star Kevin de Bruyne was heard screaming obscenities at the linesman.

Tottenham Hotspur took an early lead in north London thanks to a gorgeous finish from Heung-min Son as he collected Tanguy Ndombele’s chipped pass.

Understandably, the visitors will have been irked to go 1-0 down so early on in the game and it seems as though De Bruyne allowed his emotions to get the better of him.

The Belgian midfielder tried to take a quick corner on the right hand side of the pitch, only for Steven Bergwijn to shut down the short option.

However, the City captain was furious with the close proximity of the Spurs man and audibly bellowed at linesman Darren Cann, ‘look at where the f***** line is!’

The Citizens still took the corner quickly and were aggrieved when Riyad Mahrez hit the first man with his effort.

City thought they had equalised in the 27th minute when Aymeric Laporte fired home from inside the area.

It was eventually disallowed for handball after the video assistant referee called for the pitchside monitor to be used by Mike Dean, who overturned the decision.

Gabriel Jesus was only able to control Rodri’s cross after he moved his arm towards the ball and despite setting up Laporte, the strike was ruled out.
