Jose Mourinho’s staggering London derby record continues as his Tottenham side beat Arsenal to stay top of Premier League

Jose Mourinho is officially the King of the London derby as his Tottenham team beat Arsenal 2-0 on Sunday.

It was a classic Mourinho performance as Harry Kane and Heung-min Son were clinical again as they combined for the 10th and 11th times this season.

Spurs’ victory ensured they ended the weekend at the top of the Premier League table and are showing their title credentials.

The Portuguese manager enjoys a particularly good record when his sides have played in London derbies ever since joining Chelsea in 2004.

Mourinho has now won 40 of his London derbies across his spells at Chelsea and Tottenham out of a total of 63 games.

Only Arsenal legend Arsene Wenger has more victories to his name with an astonishing 106 wins to his name.

But Mourinho’s win percentage outstrips any of his rivals having claimed victory in 64 per cent of games.

That is better than any of the 17 managers that have managed at least 20 games in the Premier League.

Mourinho joined Chelsea in 2004 where he proclaimed himself as ‘The Special One’ and went on to win the title in his first two seasons.

After leaving in 2007, he returned in 2013 and won the title again in the 2014/15 season.

He will be hoping he can repeat his success at Spurs in his second season with the north London club.
