Arsenal fan Darren Bent fears for Mikel Arteta’s future following a 1-0 defeat to Burnley on Sunday.
A Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang own goal condemned the Gunners to their fourth defeat in five Premier League matches to leave them 15th in the table.
Arsenal played the remaining 32 minutes with 10 men as Granit Xhaka was given a red card, after a VAR review, for putting his hands around Ashley Westwood’s neck.
On top of their poor form, Arsenal have received twice as many red cards (6) as any other Premier League club since Arteta took charge last year.
And former Tottenham striker Bent thinks Arteta’s time in charge of the Gunners could be over.
He told Darren Bent’s Boot Room on talkSPORT: “Listen, I love Arteta and I think he’s done great things there.
“But this performance here, losing to Burnley in the manner they have, the discipline problems, people getting sent off, I think maybe his time is up.”
Asked if he wants Arteta to leave, Bent added: “Yeah. I don’t really like saying that because I wanted to give him a chance.
“He did great things so quickly by winning trophies [the FA Cup and Community Shield].
“But when you lose to Burnley, the performance today and the way the team’s going, the form of Aubameyang, the [Mesut] Ozil situation, the red cards, I think, potentially, now his time is up.”
